Succession Ecology has contributed to various aspects of North Beach Wallaroo, SA, providing guidance for the sustainable ecological management, in consideration of local values and landscape function.

Services included

• Sand drift management plan for North Beach, which had been degraded to the extent that sand movement became a perpetual problem for local residents. Succession Ecology proposed a set of drift fences, together with sand movement and revegetation. These works stabilised the dune system, providing a framework for it to build with time and reduced the impact of sand movement on local residents.
• Restoration works along the foredune, wale and hind dune.
• Stakeholder engagement for the development of the North Beach Management Plan, which sets out management actions regarding dune stability, biodiversity, infrastructure, recreation and community involvement.
